Home - Amuri Sands, Aitutaki Whale Watching - Watch whales playing outside the reef from your deck at Amuri Sands, Aitutaki. Whales are most likely to be seen July to November.
Fishing
- Bring your own rod for fishing in the lagoon or organise a deep sea
fishing trip. Then head to the fishing club one Wednesday for club
night.
Snorkelling
- Snorkelling perhaps the main reason to visit Aitutaki, view the
unbelievable amount colourful tropical fish from the beach upon your
doorstep.
Scuba diving
– Head out with Onu at
Bubbles Below. Fantastic diving with 30-60m visibility. You’ll
likely see a giant turtle, napoleon wrasse and huge butterfly fish.
Bubbles Below do PADI courses as well as dive trips for all levels.
Lagoon cruises
- take a day trip into the lagoon and enjoy the uninhabited islands (motu)
and some of the best snorkelling in the world (pack that sun tan lotion)
Walking
- Take an easy hike up the small mountain/large hill Maungapu and take
in the views around the island.
Scooter hire
- Hire a scooter and take an easy cruise around the island.
Island Nights
- Enjoying cultural music and dancing at an Island night in one of the
local bar/restaurants (every night at different venues except Sunday)
Shopping -
Browsing shops, stalls at the Arutanga wharf market
Church Service
– Take another opportunity to appreciate the Cook Island singing. Also
to see the Mamas dressed in their Sunday best.
Chill out
- Sit on the beach or the deck with a good book and a cold beer/wine.
